Yum-O!

About a month ago I made a fun visit to a friend in Washington D.C. While I was there she made an excellent meal, Roasted Vegetable Lasagna. I was surprised to learn that it was a WW recipe.

When I got back to Boston I looked up the recipe and added it to my faves so I could bust out with the super meal any time. Well that time was last week!

I had bought out Trader Joe's eggplant supply the day before to made eggplant parm for the boy (which went wasn't so crappy either) and had plenty left over. What was the knotty girl to do?! Of course...make a lasagna! The best part about this little goody is that there is no tomato sauce in it. The sauce is actually all the roasted veggies all ground up.

This recipe is staying in my faves box and it will definitely be a part of my recipe repertoire!

And she can read too!

I was looking through my email and found a great list of all the books my book club has read over the past 2 years. We are working on year 3 and I finally decided that I should try to keep a running list of the books we read, plus those that I do on my own. It makes me look smart and I love lists. :)

Napping and Knitting

Where oh where has the Knotty Girl gone...HELLO?! I'm right here!

No excuses in my lack of blogging but I'm going to try to get back into it. For the past few months I've had a nice break from school and I've been using all of that free time to do what I do best...nap, knit and read.



I decided to take a little break from my Rusted Root sweater and make a pair of socks for the boy. Enter the Thuja socks. It seems like a nice manly pattern and I was able to find a sock yarn I have used before to make these fantastic socks. They are moving along swimmingly so I'm quite pleased with the pattern. I should be finished with the pair in the next day or so. Now the true task...to figure out how best to package and present them. Its time to start cyber stalk a few of my favorite sock knitters and their blogs.

On my current reading list is one of my new favorite authors, Jhumpa Lahiri, and her new collection of stories Unaccustomed Earth. The stories included in this collection are a bit longer than her first book, Interpreter of Maladies. However, that just means that there is more to love!

As for the napping part of my schedule...that is just it. I like to nap so I'm trying to do it as much as possible. :)

The 80s are back...

and its in the form of Rowan Glimmer Print Yarn.


I found this yarn in the back bottom bin at my LYS. There were exactly 8 skeins left in this color so I picked it up and brought it home. No idea what to do with the yarn, but I wanted to bring sexy back and this yarn was going to do it.

I spent the evening combing the internet looking for the perfect pattern. You might be thinking, "Why doesn't she go to Ravelry and find something?" Ahh...because I am number 15000 on the list. Seriously?! I might as well be 1 bajillion on the list.

After a bit of searching I found the gold at the end of the rainbow...
Minisweater by Glampyre.

It was tiny. It was cute. It was perfect for my yarn!

I started it that night and here is where I am a day later.


I'm excited to complete the project and check it out. I have the feeling its going to be the perfect little sweater to go out in Boston! One problem though...its possible that 8 balls may not be enough. Figures.

Guess who's back...Back again!

It’s the Knotty Girl and her trusy Knotty Pup.

Its been awhile, but I’ve finally got back not only into the knitting groove, but also the picture taking groove. I’m actually completing projects and doing so successfully! WHOO HOO! Knotty Girl rocks.

For those of you who are new, welcome! I’m a intermediate knitter with a fear of seaming and measurements. I adore other knitting blogs and strive to be similar to my favorite bloggers. This is not the blog to look for new patterns or inspiration to tackle that fancy schmancy new project. This blog is for someone who is looking to laugh at my expense and see a knitter unravel the great big knotted ball of the knitting world.

So lets get going!

First off, my first pair of socks are completed AND given away! My dad was the lucky recipient of these babies. I had started socks many times in the past but was so frustrated with how long they were taking to knit up that I would give up mid sock. Forget even making it to the second sock. I will readily admit that I stalk several bloggers and their ambitious sock-a-palooza. I’m so impressed with these people that can not only knit all these cool sock patterns, but they can meet a deadline. Seriously?! A deadline? I am notorious for giving gifts months after the event simply because I “missed” the deadline. Sigh…

However, Father’s day was looming and I had yet to figure out what to buy the man who has everything. Then it dawned on me. SOCKS! Who doesn’t need socks? And especially who doesn’t need wool socks that lives in Florida? Ok, so possibly not the grandest idea but one that did require love and effort from me that I knew my dad would not only appreciate but would also enjoy.

I was up until the wee hours of the morning getting these done (including the actual morning of Father’s Day), but made it just in time to present the lovely handmade creation to him. They fit perfectly!!! Best of all…they didn’t have any weird holes in them thanks to my clever, yet crafty knitting repairs.



We both decided that my dad could easily be a foot model in his next life. He just needs to work on that tan. ;)

We are on the move...

The Knotty Girl and her trusty Knotty Dog are moving! Due to circumstances that are completely in my control I am moving to a new place. The Knotty family is getting their own place. Yippee!

The best part...its right next door to where I live now. Its good to keep it in the neighborhood. :)

Wish me luck with packing. Its hard to find room for all my fabulous purses, shoes, and tons of paper.

Seriously...why do I have so much paper?! I keep EVERYTHING. Ugh...

Anywho...we are on the move again!

Forget being Knotty...I'm Croc-a-licious!

For the past year or so I've been rockin' the crocs. Say what you want, but there is nothing better than being comfortable when you walk to work.

Being that I'm quite stylish to begin with (or at least I like to think so) I've got them in all colors. Black, brown, blue, green, red, pink, and now...get ready for it...



SILVER! How great is that?!

They are actually a little more metallic than it shows here, but you get the idea.


I wore them to walk Korky tonight and I got 3 compliments in about two blocks. I'm getting a date off these whether they like it or not! ;)
